Gran Habano Slates Corojo No. 7 for January 2024 Release

While many cigar companies are focusing on the new cigars they will be releasing at next month’s PCA Convention & Trade Show, Gran Habano has announced the Corojo #7 as a new limited edition cigar that it is planning to release in January 2024.

The line is a Nicaraguan puro that uses corojo-seed tobacco from the Jalapa region for the wrapper, while the binder and filler are also corojo-seed tobacco. The company calls it a stronger and bolder blend than its Corojo #5, which it has previously described as the strongest cigar in its portfolio. The Corojo No. 7 is made at Gran Habano’s G.R. Tabacaleras Unidas S.A.factory in Honduras and will be offered in a 6 x 54 toro size for its launch, which will be presented in 10-count leather cases. Additionally, the first 1,000 boxes sold will come with a branded lighter as well.

It will join the El Enemigo and XX Aniversario as Ultra-Premium releases in the company’s portfolio.

“We are thrilled to finally release the Corojo #7 blend to our loyal customers and cigar enthusiasts around the world,” said George Rico, president of Gran Habano Cigars, via a press release. “This blend has been a labor of love, and we are confident that it will exceed expectations.”

Rico noted that due to a limited supply of tobacco leaves, the company is only able to produce about 16,000 cigars per year, all of which will be in the 6 x 54 toro size. The company is officially planning to release 1,000 of the 10-count leather cases for the debut, with the remaining cigars used for in-store events. A spokesperson for the company said that two more sizes, a 5 x 52 robusto and a 6 x 60 Imperial, are being considered for possible release in the future. If those sizes are released, they would be offered in 20-count boxes.

Pricing for the Gran Habano Corojo No. 7 has not yet been announced. And while the cigar will not be on display at next month’s PCA Convention & Trade Show, the company wanted to get the word out ahead of the show, as it will only be offered to Gran Habano’s ultra-premium accounts.
