About Gran Habano Cigars
GR Tabacaleras Unidas was founded in 1995, the love child of Guillermo Rico and his son George Rico. As a third generation leaf grower, Guillermo understands tobacco from the seeding state to its full-grown potential.
Using only the best raw materials on earth, we being the growing process with Habano and Corojo seeds which are grown on company-owned farms in Columbia, Panama, Nicaragua and Costa Rica – the Nicaraguan farm being a 400 acre beauty, and the largest in Jalopa Valley, Nicaragua. The process comes to fruition at our boutique factory, which focuses on quality control and high-end productivity. Here, each cigar is worked with Cigar Drawn tools, tested and finished with a triple cap head. Nothing takes leave of our factory without reaching perfection. We pride ourselves on this.
The Gran Habano, which undergoes the above process, was introduced in 2003 in conjunction with the Connecticut #1, the Habono #3 and the Corojo #5. In 2006, we introduced the Gran Habano 3SLS, which is a triple leaf filler cigar – and we continue to roll them out, with love, with price and with guesto. These cigars are the best, most consistent and most affordable boutique cigars on the market.
